The city of Madison Chamber of Commerce
provides leadership in economic development activities and works to
enhance the overall quality of life in Madison. The Chamber supports
existing Madison businesses, works to attract new corporate citizens, and
promotes civic, cultural, and recreational activities that improve the
quality of life for Madison's businesses and residents.

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Nestled in the rolling hills of central
Mississippi, Madison is just a 10-minute drive from Jackson, the state’s
largest city and its capital. You can find the best in entertainment,
shopping, medical services, education and cultural offerings. In less than
three hours, you can dine in New Orleans, shop in Mobile or Memphis or
fish on the Gulf Coast. With Jackson International Airport only 20 minutes
away, you have easy access to destinations throughout the world on major
air carriers. Our city of 15,000 has a very low crime rate, compared to
other cities in the Southeast as well as the nation. Retirement income
from public and private qualified pension plans is exempt from state
income taxes.

OUTSTANDING RECREATIONAL OPTIONS
Country Clubs—The clubs in the Madison
area offer golf, tennis, swimming, and fine dining. The Annandale Country
Club with its Jack Nicklaus-designed course is host to the annual PGA-sanctioned
Southern Farm Bureau Golf Classic. Other clubs include Whisper Lake Country
Club, Northbay Country Club, Lake Caroline Country Club and Colonial Country
Club’s Deerfield Course.
Shopping—The Old Madison Station
District, once the center of railroad activity in Madison, is now home to
numerous shops and galleries. And, if you like antiquing, you’ll find this
area perfect for browsing and buying.
Reservoir and Parks—The 33,000 acre Ross
Barnett Reservoir, just east of the city, is perfect for fishing, sailing,
boating, water skiing, picnicking, camping, and walking its trails.
Strawberry Patch Park is a seven-acre neighborhood park that combines
walking trails with exercise stations, playground equipment and picnic
areas, all surrounding a serene lake. Simmons Arboretum features a wonderful
walking tour through a variety of Mississippi’s plants, trees, and shrubs.
The historic Natchez Trace Parkway is a scenic highway with picnic sites,
historic markers, and nature trails.

There are programs and courses for almost any interest. With five
four-year institutions and 2 two-year community colleges in the metro
area, along with a large variety of adult and community enrichment
programs, there is something offered to meet your needs!
