Baseball/Softball - Madison-Ridgeland Youth Club offers opportunities for boys and girls ages 4-18 to play softball or baseball. Registration takes place in early February and tryouts are held in early March (all registrants are invited to play). Practice begins in mid-March, and games are scheduled from April through June. All-star tournament teams play through July and into early August. Fall baseball resumes in September and goes through October. Boys play under the “Dizzie Dean” franchise, while the girls play ASA fast pitch softball. Over 2,000 young people participate each year.
Basketball - Boys and girls in grades 3 through 12 are invited to join basketball teams organized by the Madison and Ridgeland Parks and Recreation Departments. Registration takes place in early November, practices are in December, and games are played in January and February in local public school gyms.
Soccer - The South Madison County Soccer Organization conducts spring and fall soccer programs for boys and girls ages 4-18. Registration takes place in mid-July and again in mid-December, with practices starting in August and January. Games are held from September into early November and again from February into early April. Average yearly participation exceeds 1,400 Children.
