Friday, Feb. 1, is National Wear Red Day.

Repairs are underway on Friday, Jan. 25, at the Cotton Hill water well. Businesses and residents that are east of the well may experience brown water from their pipes, but it is not necessary to boil water.

In observance of a legal state holiday, Madison City Hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 21.

The Polar Express will be shown tonight (Dec. 14) at 6 p.m. inside Madison Square Center for the Arts for Movie on Main.

Madison's first Movie on Main will be Friday, Dec. 14.

Madison's Christmas Parade is on schedule to march through the city on Saturday.

While there have been concerns about the weather, it looks like the parade can go forward beginning at 9 a.m.

Bible study will not meet in December but resumes Jan. 2.


The bridge on Tidewater Lane has been reopened to traffic.


Madison the City will officially observe Halloween on Wednesday, Oct. 31. In the past, neighborhood associations have elected to have Halloween events on other designated days.  That is the neighborhood's choice.

The 15th annual Scarecrow Cruise & Car Show brings hundreds of vintage cars and newer ones of all makes and models to the Main Street at Highway 51 grounds of Madison Square Center for the Arts Oct. 19-20.

The Downtown Madison Farmers Market has closed for the 2018 season. Thank you to the vendors who shared their goods and the customers who returned each week to make purchases.
