Madison's month-long picnic, "Swing into Summer", will be held on Thursdays during the month of May from 6-8 p.m. by the Red Caboose on the grounds of the Madison Square Center for the Arts.
"Swing Into Summer" features live music, with this year's lineup including the 601 Band on May 4, Luckenbach May 11, Accoustic Crossroads May 18 and Hunter Gibson May 25.
Children's activities include Inky the Clown May 4, Dorian the Magician May 11, the Broadmoor Baptist Church Puppet Ministry May 18 and a petting zoo May 25. Children also can play on inflatables and obstacle courses, climb the rock wall and ride the trackless train. There will be weekly crafts for kids, face painting and more.
Hot dogs will be provided by sponsor Renasant Bank, and weekly drawings will be held for prizes. Other sponsors include C-Spire, Bricks 4 Kidz, Firehouse Subs, the Madison Fire Department, Madison Garden Center and Strawberry Cafe.
Music and children's activities will move inside the arts center's gym in case of rain.
