Gov. Tate Reeves placed Madison County under a mask mandate on Monday, Nov. 16.  Madison County is now one of 22 counties in the state under a mandate.

The Board of Aldermen has ordered a Special Election on Tuesday December 15 to fill the vacancy for Alderman-at-Large.

On Oct. 26, Gov. Tate Reeves placed Madison County under a mask mandate to slow the spread of Covid-19.

Under Gov. Reeves' Safe Recovery Order, issued on Sept. 30, Mississippi is no longer operating under a mask mandate except masks are required in schools and for some professions, as noted in his recent executive order.

Gov. Tate Reeves today extended his Safe Return order until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30. Executive Order 1522 extends the mask mandate and increases the numbers allowed in retailers and restaurants to 75 percent capacity.

Work on Hoy Road will soon be underway.

Construction is expected to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 16, and the project is estimated to take 18 months to complete.

Madison city offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, for the Labor Day holiday.  There will be regularly scheduled garbage/recycling pick up on Monday.

New hours for Strawberry Patch Park and Liberty Park go into effect Saturday, May 16. Gov.

The Downtown Madison Farmers Market will open June 2 on the grounds of Madison Square Center for the Arts by the Red Caboose. Hours will be 3-6 p.m. on Tuesdays.
