Madison's "Movie on Main" brings a showing of "The Polar Express" to Madison Square Center for the Arts on Thursday, Nov. 21.

Keep Madison the City Beautiful invites anyone interested in joining the the volunteer organization, which is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, to an upcoming meeting to learn more.

Be a part of Madison's annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 7.

Retiree Calendar

The Mississippi Forestry Commission has approved a burn ban for Madison County through Oct. 13. Madison County is one of 30 counties with approved burn bans in place because of the extremely dry conditions.

Madison's annual Scarecrow Festival is set for Thursday, Oct. 10.

Anyone interested in learning how to detect potentially severe storms and how to relay severe weather information is invited to Skywarn/Spotter Training in Madison. There will a class at 9 a.m., Monday, Sept.

Madison City Hall will be closed Monday, Sept. 2, for Labor Day.

Madison's Parks & Recreation Department is now hiring part-time grounds crew staff.

July Calendar

There will be a blood drive at the Denson Robinson Public Service Complex on Tuesday, July 9 for Beth Riddell.

Mississippi Blood Services will be on site at 1239 U.S. 51 for blood donations 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Madison City Hall will be closed for the Fourth of July holiday on July 4-5.

The holiday will not affect garbage or recycling pickups.  They will go on as scheduled on July 4 and 5.

The Downtown Madison Farmers Market is open Tuesdays this summer, 3-6 p.m. on Main Street.
