Spruced up your yard or trimmed your trees? The Department of Public Works operates a limb pick up service to assist with clearing away the accumulated debris. The city is divided into two areas – those east and those west of I-55 – for pick up. The chipper truck and knuckle boom truck spend one week in each area, alternating from the east side of the city to the west. It can take up to six weeks for the truck to complete a full run through the city.
To assist in picking up your debris call Public Works at (601) 856-8958 to leave your name and address and to get an approximate date that the city truck will be in your area to pick up the limbs.
This pick-up service is only for those limbs that homeowners have cut themselves. Tree branches cut by a professional landscaper or tree service need to be hauled away by those hired. Contact the tree-cutting service to have the debris removed.
