July 4th and America’s 250th Birthday Celebration

Please join Madison the City to celebrate the 4th of July and America’s 250th Birthday from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm at Strawberry Patch Park, 271 St. Augustine Drive. Parking is available on the MRA campus and the MRA Old Canton Road Calumet Lot.

The Program includes:

  • The Jackson All-Stars Band
  • Betsy Ross telling stories
  • Old-fashioned Games
  • Presentation of the American Flag by Ed McDaniels
  • George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Patrick Henry, Continental Soldiers, and Widow at Veterans Memorial Garden
  • Hot dogs, cake, ice cream, lemonade, watermelon, strawberries
  • Vintage airplanes at Commemorative Air Force Hangar

Emcee will be Major General (retired) Augustus Leon Collins, former Adjutant General of Mississippi serving as the Commanding General of both the Mississippi Army and Air National Guard.
