The Madison Square Center for the Arts celebrates arts education and cultural programming in the heart of downtown Madison. At this time, the building is under renovation so classes and performances are limited.

The center is located at 2103 Main Street and is a landmark in the city. The building was constructed in 1910 as the community’s school and served generations of schoolchildren for a century. The building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The arts center grounds anchored by Madison’s well-known Red Caboose are home to community events like Swing into Summer each May and the Scarecrow Festival in October. The grounds are also the home of the Downtown Madison Farmers Market each Tuesday during the summer growing season.
