The Scarecrow Decorating Contest starts October 1, 2026. We invite businesses, churches, neighborhoods, schools, and organizations to participate in our Scarecrow Decorating Contest to make our city festive for the Fall! Entries must be within the Madison City Limits, and the display must be ready for viewing by October 1, 2025. Please make your entry festive, not scary. Awards are announced after the Scarecrow Stroll on October 10 at the Madison the City Welcome Center.
The Scarecrow Stroll is October 10, 2026. Dress up as a scarecrow and join us for a one-half mile stroll through Downtown Madison followed by an Awards Party at the Madison the City Welcome Center.
The Scarecrow Festival is October 29, 2026 – Liberty Park – Live music, inflatables, cake walk, train rides, games, photo booth, crafts, face painting, temporary tattoos, food vendors.
The MS Cruisers Scarecrow Cruise and Car Show is October 30-31 at Liberty Park. Trunk or Treat is Friday night. Come and view more than 500 classic cars.
Merry Market – November 21, 2026 – get your Christmas shopping in early at this outdoor premier shopping event featuring the finest in unique arts and crafts from more than 150 vendors.
Christmas Festival of Trees – By the Caboose, 2103 Main Street – local organizations and businesses decorate and light Christmas trees next to the Miniature Village. Trees will be ready by December 1.
