Christmas Parade Rules

  • Check-In: Upon arrival, please check in at the Ridgecrest parking lot to receive your entry number. Proceed directly to your assigned, numbered spot.
    • Arrival Times:
      • Floats must arrive by 7:30 AM.
      • All other entries must arrive by 8:00 AM.
      • The parade will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.
  • Candy and Handouts: No items may be thrown by parade participants. You may hand out candy, you cannot toss it.
  • Children: Children walking in the parade must be at least 5 years old. Younger children must ride on a float, car, or truck.
  • Santa Clause: The only live Santa in the parade will be on the city’s official float.
  • Judging: Parade judges will be positioned secretly along the route.
  • Parade Flow: To maintain a smooth parade, all entries must proceed at a slow, steady pace. Choreographed groups should limit stops to no more than 30 seconds.
  • Festivity Requirement: Entries solely for advertising purposes are not allowed. All entries must be festive in nature.
  • Awards: Trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place floats will be awarded during the closing ceremonies at the Caboose. Bands and choreographed groups will not be judged.
